The Flinders Foundation hosted its popular Winemaker’s Dinner event on Saturday, 14 May with more than 260 people attending to help fundraise for Foundation projects to support Matthew Flinders Anglican College, raising more than $55,000.
The Foundation had not been able to host the special event since 2019, so the Board appreciated the opportunity to bring the College community and friends together.
The Foundation thanked the guests and the sponsors, including major events sponsors Sunshine Coast Oral, Facial and Implant Specialists and Hentley Farm Wines.
A Masterclass event was held prior to the dinner, with Hentley Farm’s Emily Macdonald expertly guiding guests through the tastings of selected specialty wines from the winery.
Event MC and auctioneer Dirk Long, Director at Evans Long, ran the evening smoothly and with his entertaining style.
The major prize sponsors included:
- Chomley Family Law https://chomleyfamilylaw.com.au/
- Market Bistro
- Silver Downes Realty
- Sunshine Coast Oral, Facial and Implant Specialists
- Hentley Farm Wines
- 123 Travel
The event raised more than $55,000 towards supporting a range of Flinders Foundation projects to benefit Flinders students, current and future, including scholarship programs and the construction of new facilities. Through such events the Foundation aims to raise funds for new learning precincts and facilities – most recently the Wonderarium learning centre in the Primary School which opened recently and was wholly funded by the Flinders Foundation.
