It was a busy Easter break for the College's 1st XV Rugby team as they set off on their five-day 2023 Sydney Tour.
The first match of the tour was held at Cranbook School, with students taking to the field in challenging rainy conditions and coming away with a final score of 14-31.
Students had the opportunity to visit the New South Wales Institute of Sport to watch St Augustine's v St Edmunds in the John Papahatzis Cup, named after the Flinders Director of Rugby Coaching.
This was followed by one of the highlights of the trip: watching the Canterbury Bulldogs take on the North Queensland Cowboys!
The final two days of the tour involved an enjoyable mix of training and sightseeing, with a lengthy training session at Prince Alfred Park before touring the Sydney Cricket Ground and the newly renovated Allianz Stadium.
Teacher in Charge of Rugby, Mr Ben Radmall said, "It was an amazing experience for the boys to tour both grounds where many of the greats of AFL, rugby union, rugby league and cricket have played.
"We then rounded out the tour with a game against St Augustine's 2nd XV, which proved to be a great learning experience for the whole team."
Well done to our 1st XV Rugby team for representing Flinders with pride and thank you to our supporting staff for making this outstanding opportunity for our students possible.
Go Flinders!
