The Infinity Centre enables Secondary School students from Years 7-12 students to become confident creators and problem-solvers. 

Students are inspired and challenged to work flexibly across a range of disciplines, including Design and Technologies, Visual Art, Digital Technologies and Business. 

Over three levels, the Infinity Centre features the latest technology and top quality resources, equipment and space to enable enquiry and ideation, collaboration, prototyping and testing, as well as presentation.

Infinity Gallery

The Infinity Gallery enables students to curate and display work, engage audiences, collaborate and problem solve. The space is also used to display installations and host workshops, think tanks and presentations to inspire and provoke students’ learning. 

The Pitch is a sound-proofed room with a podium, table and presentation screen to assist with delivering a presentation or pitch. Designed for small groups of 40 people in a presenter-audience style arrangement, the space often features guest speakers who are invited to inspire and provoke students as they explore new projects. The Pitch is also a professional venue for students at the final stages of their design thinking journey to pitch ideas and test projects for feedback or final presentation to an audience.

The Infinity Studio is used for photography, projection, digital illustration and Virtual Reality. The space opens into the Infinity Gallery through large pivot doors, providing unique display opportunities.

The Whitebox also enables students to transform the space using lights, projection, time, sound and other creative means, as they explore concepts and audience engagement through their art and design work.

Three collaborative spaces are available for students to ideate and brainstorm multiple solutions to the problems identified. The co-labs are fitted with floor-to-ceiling whiteboards, flexible furniture configurations and interactive technology to support teamwork and collaborative learning. 

Three art studios support students studying Visual Art and exploring projects across other disciplines. The studios are equipped with high workbenches and a range of art materials, equipment and tools, including two ceramic kilns, a glass kiln, six pottery wheels and printmaking presses. A specially designed dark space enables students to expose photographic screen prints. Students use iPads to explore and integrate digital technology to enhance learning experiences and support their creative expression. 

The five Design Studios allow students to innovate by commencing low-fidelity prototyping supported by interactive whiteboards and collaborative furniture.  

These studios are connected to Design Labs which contains the latest tools, tech and equipment to bring the designs to life, including 3D printers, laser cutters, sublimation printers and vinyl cutters,

Dedicated maker spaces enable students to engage in hands-on activities during the final phases of their design thinking process where heavier machinery and tools are required to fabricate end products. The workspaces feature high desks and workbenches to encourage collaboration on group projects and activities. 

Equipment includes welding bays, spray painting booths for working with timber, metal and plastics, drop saws, bandsaw, metal centre lathe and metal guillotine, cold saw, grinder polisher and chisel mortiser.

The Infinity Lab is integral to the building as it features a range of cleantech equipment for students to use during the prototyping phase of the design thinking process.

Equipment includes CNC machines, sublimation printers and vinyl cutters, as well as an industry-quality plastic chipper and heat press machine that enables students to recycle waste into sheets of plastic to use when designing new products.

Outdoor Exhibition & Garden Space

The Infinity Centre’s outdoor zone features beautifully landscaped gardens and seating zones for students to gather and relax at break times. The open stage and exhibition areas provide an opportunity to present student creations, whether for exhibitions, dramatic performances, music concerts, community events or fundraisers.

Digi Studio

The Digi Studio is a general learning classroom and the hub for entrepreneurialism. It features a range of interactive technologies and Webex boards as well as floor-to-ceiling whiteboards used in digital design to enable students to plan the user experience of digital products, such as websites, games and apps. 

Next door is the Digi Lab, which features 24 workstations. Each workspace has a dual-screened PC and is linked by the Crestron system to support deeper learning and enable teachers to deliver presentations, demonstrate live experiments and fix issues remotely. 

The Digi Lab also features two sound-proofed pod-casting recording booths for students and staff to create, pitch and test products and prototypes to audiences. 

Two cutting-edge food laboratories enable students to explore Food and Nutrition subjects in a controlled environment when conducting experiments related to food chemistry, microbiology and sensory profiling, for example. 

Both food labs have 24 workspaces with TV screens linked to an overhead camera on a show-and-tell bench for teaching. Adjacent classrooms enable students to move flexibly between their practical work and written tasks. A range of high-tech equipment further supports students in exploring topics such as food preservation techniques, ingredient functionality and food formulation for consumer markets. 

The laboratories encourage collaboration and teamwork among students, fostering communication skills and peer learning. Group projects and laboratory exercises promote discussion, idea exchange and collective problem-solving.
