Year 10 Economics

This subject provides students with basic economic literacy while developing analytical skills by applying an inquiry-based approach to the study of topical economic problems and issues. It introduces students to the general nature of the discipline of economics and examines issues such as the economic problem, different economic systems, factors influencing supply and demand, as well as investigating the price mechanism and how the Australian economy works. Students then explore Australia’s place in the global community by examining the nature of the economy and measuring its performance through a range of economic indicators. Students inquire into many contemporary economic issues such as globalisation, economic growth, unemployment, inflation and the environment.
