Senior Subjects

All Year 11 and 12 students study six subjects which must include one (1) English and one (1) Mathematics subject. Whilst there are no strict prerequisites for any Year 11 subject, it is recommended that students selecting Japanese or French should have studied the preparatory subject in Year 10.

To be eligible for an ATAR, students must undertake at least five subjects, four of which must be General subjects, over the two years of Senior.  This means that students can include up to two Applied or Vocational Education (Certificate III or higher) subjects in their total of six, and remain ATAR-eligible. Extension subjects are only available to Year 12 students. Students opting for an Extension subject will need to negotiate with the Head of Senior School to withdraw from one of their other subjects at the completion of Unit 2.
