The Flinders Foundation will host its popular Winemaker’s Dinner fundraiser event on Saturday, 14 May from 6:00pm, and members of our Matthew Flinders Anglican College community are invited along.
Tickets sell out fast so set your alarms for 6:00am Monday, 28 March 2022 when bookings open via Trybooking:
Dinner event https://www.trybooking.com/BYIJA
Masterclass event https://www.trybooking.com/BYIKL
Guests can book individual tickets or as groups for a table of 10. The event is an enjoyable evening and an opportunity to get to know fellow parents, staff and friends of Flinders.
The event ticket includes a glass of sparkling on arrival, followed by a four-course meal, with each course expertly paired with Hentley Farm wines by founder, Keith Hentscke.
The evening will include an auction to raise funds for Foundation projects that support our students. Guests are invited to take part in the event or enjoy applauding supporters!
There is also a Flinders Foundation Winemaker’s Masterclass event, sponsored by Hentley Farm, from 5:15pm to 6:00pm before the dinner event commences. Meet the Founder of Hentley Farm and sample selected specialty wines from the winery.
The Flinders Foundation thanks the event’s major sponsors: Sunshine Coast Oral Facial and Implant Specialists; and Hentley Farm.
The Foundation also appreciates the many Flinders family business owners who are donating raffle prizes and auction items. Many guests also help by stepping up as table ambassadors and encouraging their friends and colleagues to come along.
How Foundation Fundraising Benefits the College
Funds raised at the Winemaker’s Dinner will go towards supporting a range of Flinders Foundation projects to benefit our Flinders students, current and future, including scholarship programs and the construction of new facilities. Every donation is appreciated and of value to the College's growth.
Despite our 2020 and 2021 events being cancelled due to COVID, the Flinders Foundation has continued to financially support important College projects in 2020 and 2021, including:
• Wholly funding the new Wonderarium – an innovative learning resource centre in the Flinders Primary, constructed as part of the Flinders Masterplan, which opened in Term 4, 2021. The Wonderarium is a place of wonder, connection and inspiration that aims to excite students from Prep to Year 6 through literature, artefacts, works of art and provocations.
• Sponsoring the Flinders Foundation Scholarship for a student who is new to the College. The 2022 Foundation Scholar Ella Kerr commenced Year 11 and joins us from Emerald in Central Queensland. Click here to watch a short video of our 2020 Foundation Scholar, Jazmyn Guest talk about the opportunities she has enjoyed since joining the Flinders community.
The Flinders Foundation is still calling for more prizes to auction in the major live auction on the night. Please contact Foundation Liaison Rachel Sotiropoulos if you are interested in sponsoring a prize. Email: foundation@mfac.edu.au
